SNOW: Short Tales from the Edge of the Glitch

By Nonny Mendoza

From the mind of paranormal author Nonny Mendoza

comes a chilling collection that blurs the boundaries between dream and reality,

memory and myth.

SNOW isn’t just a book—it’s a transmission from the edge of perception.

Each story in this haunting anthology is a strange frequency caught between moments—where roads forget where they lead, paintings bleed into the world, and snow falls in places it never should. These aren’t simple ghost stories. They’re meditations on identity, consciousness, and the fragile nature of reality itself.

Prepare to vanish—just a little—into the glitch. Inside the pages of SNOW, you'll find:

Forgotten frequencies and vanishing towns

Liminal spaces between life and death

Mythic echoes woven into modern nightmares

Characters who discover that remembering can be more dangerous than forgetting

If you’re drawn to the eerie, the unexplainable, and the beautifully strange, SNOW: Short Tales from the Edge of the Glitch will pull you in—and leave you wondering what’s real.

“So take a breath. Open the first page. And step into the hush beneath the falling snow…

The Weight of Tender Things

People think grief is loud. That it wails and tears its clothes and leaves you gasping in the middle of a grocery store. But mine just sits there. Quiet. Patient. It’s in the drawer where I keep old postcards I’ll never send. It’s in the way I hesitate before letting people pronounce my name. It’s in the sculptures I don’t show anyone.

God, the sculptures.

They’re the only things I make that don’t lie. Clay knows. It takes whatever I’m carrying and says, okay, let’s make this honest. Let’s make this real.

Sometimes I think I’m more afraid of being loved than being left. At least being left is familiar.

A quiet, confessional novel about a young woman who’s learned to survive by keeping love at a distance. Told in an intimate, Salinger-like cadence, it follows Ellie—a 24-year-old Spanish-born sculptor living in self-imposed exile on the New England coast—as she drifts between solitude, memory, and the pull of her past. When a chance friendship breaches her defenses and a letter from Spain delivers news of the only mother she’s ever known, Ellie is forced to confront her deepest fear: that every bond she forms will end in abandonment.

It’s part portrait of grief, part meditation on self-protection, and part love letter to the fragile, heavy work of opening your heart again.

Author Bio

Nonny Mendoza is a writer, veteran, and intuitive explorer of the unknown whose work is deeply rooted in personal experience and a lifelong fascination with the paranormal. Born and raised in Huntington Park, California, Nonny’s encounters with unexplained phenomena began in early childhood—events that would quietly shape the trajectory of her life. In 1998, she moved to Downey, where her journey of reinvention and awakening would continue to unfold.

With a creative spirit and a keen eye for visual storytelling, Nonny earned a graphic design certification in 1995. She launched a successful career in the design and printing industry and, in 2004, founded INC Print Inc., a thriving business that allowed her to channel her artistic sensibilities into entrepreneurship. But in 2007, despite her success, she felt a powerful inner call for change. In a courageous move, she stepped away from the business world and began a transformative quest for self-discovery.

That journey took a bold and unexpected turn when, at the age of 38, Nonny enlisted in the United States Navy. Her first duty station was New Orleans—a city drenched in supernatural history and mysticism. It was there that her passion for the paranormal reignited, as the spiritual undercurrents of the city seemed to echo her own lifelong experiences. Over her ten-year military career, she embraced discipline, service, and spiritual growth, earning a Bachelor of Science degree (Cum Laude) in 2018 before retiring honorably in 2019.

After retiring from the Navy, Nonny turned fully to writing, determined to document and share the incredible true stories that had shaped her life. She is the author of the Ghostly Tales book series, a haunting and heartfelt collection of real-life supernatural experiences drawn from her own encounters and those of her family. Each volume reflects her deep belief that the veil between worlds is thinner than we imagine—and that some truths are best revealed through personal testimony.

Her debut book, Awaken the Dreamer, marks a powerful shift from storytelling into spiritual and philosophical exploration. In it, Nonny delves into themes of human consciousness, hidden knowledge, and government secrecy, weaving together personal awakening with a larger inquiry into the unseen forces influencing our reality. The book is both a memoir and a manifesto—an invitation to look beyond the surface of life and question everything we think we know.

Beyond her literary work, Nonny Mendoza is known for her grounded wisdom, her intuitive insight, and her commitment to helping others awaken to their own potential. Her life story is one of resilience, reinvention, and spiritual courage.

An extraordinary footnote to her journey: Nonny is a direct descendant of King Henry II of England and Eleanor of Aquitaine—two of the most legendary figures in medieval European history. This royal lineage adds a mythic layer to her personal narrative, linking her modern-day path to centuries of legacy, power, and mystery.

Today, Nonny continues to write, speak, and inspire others through her books and public appearances. Whether she’s recounting a ghostly visitation, reflecting on a Navy memory, or guiding readers through metaphysical questions, she remains devoted to uncovering the invisible threads that bind our world—and inviting others to see with new eyes.
